One of the first modern Visual Radio systems

Founder & Chief Technology Architect
A life dedicated to building technology for radio and television—and to turning real broadcast challenges into systems people can trust every day.
CLOSE RadioTV was founded by Leonardo Bonello, a software developer and broadcast technology specialist with more than twenty years of experience creating solutions for radio stations, television channels, and content producers.
From the beginning of his career, his goal has been to develop tools that solve real industry challenges: systems that are easier to operate, more reliable, and ready for the future.
That philosophy remains at the heart of CLOSE RadioTV: combining engineering, innovation, and artificial intelligence to create the next generation of broadcasting solutions.
Years before live video became a routine part of radio, Leonardo Bonello was already engineering the connection between audio, images, automation and digital distribution.
Leonardo developed technology designed to integrate synchronized images with radio broadcasts at a time when internet connections still had significant bandwidth limitations.
The project received a technology award from the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina, recognizing its innovative approach.
The technology was presented at one of Latin America’s leading professional exhibitions for the audiovisual and broadcasting industries.
This early development anticipated the convergence of radio, video, automation and digital platforms that now defines modern broadcasting.
Innovation has always been accompanied by a strong international vision: creating technology capable of operating across different markets, languages, and cultures.
In 2018, Bonello was honored with the First National Award from ICBC Bank as a leader in the export of Argentine technological innovation.
As part of that recognition, in 2019 Leonardo Bonello participated in a technology and trade mission to China, building relationships with companies and industry organizations while promoting Argentine broadcasting technology in one of the world’s most important technology markets.
That experience confirmed that innovation developed in Argentina could compete internationally and strengthened a vision that is now part of the DNA of CLOSE RadioTV.
Growing up in this environment inspired Leonardo’s interest in engineering, software development, and technological innovation from an early age.
An internationally recognized reference for the acoustic design and evaluation of rooms.
Recognition by the Audio Engineering Society for contributions to audio engineering.
Research and development in acoustics, digital audio processing, and broadcasting technology.
Professional systems developed and exported for broadcasters around the world.
Today, CLOSE RadioTV represents a new chapter in that tradition, incorporating artificial intelligence, advanced automation, and cloud technologies to address the challenges of twenty-first-century broadcasting.
Every tool developed by CLOSE follows the same principle: technology should simplify people’s work, improve reliability, and allow broadcasters to spend more time creating content and less time solving technical problems.
Radio and television are undergoing an unprecedented transformation. Artificial intelligence, remote production, IP transport, and cloud technologies are redefining how content is produced and distributed.
Leonardo Bonello’s vision is not for software to replace human creativity, but to enhance it.
That is the purpose of CLOSE RadioTV: to build intelligent tools that allow broadcasters to work with greater freedom, efficiency, and quality.
“After more than twenty years developing technology for broadcasting, I am still guided by the same idea: to create the software I would want to find every time I walk into a station.”
